For Jared (Or: Anyone Else Who Wishes to Read)

Jared, here's that mic and the company that manufactures it. They actually have some high-quality mics for pretty damn cheap. Bressler (an audio instructor), recommends not using it for vocals but says it works great on amps, bass drums, etc. He trialed it alongside a AEA R44, a Royer R122 a Blue Woodpecker and a few other high-end ribbons and swears by it. List price: $109.95. Pretty looking thing too:

They have some other affordable mics listed as well. Not a bad buy I would speculate. I'm thinking I'll pick one up myself.

In other news: I was riding the 3 bus down to school yesterday, when a horrifying smell reached my nostrils and sent me into shock. That's right, I experienced my first public transportation shitting (the responsibility of someone else not me, I maintain continence), it was quite the experience.

I haven't even started and already I'm a nerd

So I haven't even begun my education in the world of audio and music but I'm already a nerd. This particular company makes amazing plug-ins. Massey makes a plug-in that converts recorded drum tracks into MIDI notes so you can re-apply it to electronic or previously recorded drums, even a plethora of instruments...very cool, much cooler than sound replacer. They also have a sweet analog tape delay plug-in, that auto-syncs in real time with the tempo of the song. The best thing about the Massey plug-ins is that they are super cheap in relation with other plug-ins. I already suck.
